New Bewerley Community School

Welcome to our Reception

In Reception, our teachers are Mrs Evans and Mrs Revill who work closely with our Early Years team, Miss Connor, Mrs Hussain and Mrs Whitley.

Our classes are named Sinfield and Adams after two inspirational and very special athletes who have close bonds with Leeds.

Kevin Sinfield is a well known name in Leeds and played Rugby League for the Leeds Rhinos for 18 years.  Following his close friend and former teammate Rob Burrow's diagnosis with motor neurone disease, Kevin Sinfield began a series of high-profile fundraising efforts including running seven marathons in seven days and a 101-mile run in 24 hours.

Nicola Adams is a British former professional boxer from Leeds who competed from 2007 to 2019.  She became the first female to win an Olympic boxing gold medal at London 2012, and the first double Olympic boxing champion after retaining her title at Rio 2016. She retired with an undefeated professional record in 2019.

Highlights from OFSTED 2023

"Early years offers an interesting and stimulating environment in which children can learn. Conversations that children have with adults are rich and meaningful. Pupils explore, investigate and discover new learning through carefully structured play and in the learning environment, as well as in more formal sessions with adults."

Our Curriculum

In EYFS, our curriculum drivers serve as a foundation point to begin children’s progression through school.

Our drivers align with the whole school Golden Threads.
