Year 3
In Year 3, we have 2 classes where children build upon the knowledge and the understanding that they have already developed in Key Stage 1 with engaging topics and learning.
3Moore
In 3 Moore you will find our teacher is Mr Russell-Cohen, who is supported by various members of the LKS2 Team including Mrs Sander, Miss McGregor, Mr Harrison, Mrs Ali, Miss Lumsden, Mrs Sagoo and Mrs Blackburn.
Our class is named after Henry Moore, a world-famous artist and sculptor from Yorkshire, best known for his large bronze and stone sculptures inspired by the human figure and natural forms.
We are looking forward to exciting challenges in Maths and English, exploring a variety of new texts that will inspire our own writing. This year we will also be working hard on our times tables and developing our confidence with numbers up to 1000.
3Smeaton
In 3 Smeaton you will find our teacher is Mrs Shaw, who is supported by various members of the LKS2 Team including Mrs Sander, Miss McGregor, Mr Harrison, Mrs Ali, Miss Lumsden, Mrs Sagoo and Mrs Blackburn.
Our class is named after John Smeaton, an engineer from Leeds who is often called the “Father of Civil Engineering.” He designed bridges, canals, harbours and lighthouses, and his ideas helped shape the world we live in today.
As part of the Year 3 curriculum, we will continue to build on our reading fluency and comprehension, develop our grammar and spelling in writing, and deepen our understanding of fractions, multiplication and division in Maths.
