Year 3 is an exciting stage of learning where children continue to build upon the knowledge, skills and understanding developed in Key Stage 1. We encourage our pupils to become confident, independent learners who are ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities.

3 Moore

Our class is named after Henry Moore, the world-famous Yorkshire artist and sculptor. His creativity, imagination and unique way of looking at the world inspire us to think creatively, express our ideas and approach learning with curiosity.

Our teacher is Mr Russell-Cohen, who is supported by members of the Lower Key Stage 2 team, including Miss Ryatt, Miss Edley, Miss McGregor and Miss Kelly (HLTA).

Together, we create a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence. We are committed to helping our children grow into lifelong learners and achieve their full potential.

Through our Growth Mindset approach, we encourage children to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and celebrate their achievements as they continue on their learning journey.

Our class is named after John Smeaton, the Leeds engineer often known as the 'Father of Civil Engineering'. His innovation, determination and problem-solving skills inspire us to approach challenges with confidence and perseverance.

Our teacher is Mrs Murphy, who is supported by members of the Lower Key Stage 2 team, including Miss Edley, Miss Kathanga and Miss Kelly (HLTA).

Together, we nurture children to become confident, ambitious and resilient learners who enjoy exploring new ideas and developing their skills across the curriculum. We encourage every child to believe in themselves and take pride in their achievements.

We are proud to develop our Growth Mindset, helping children to recognise that effort, determination and a positive attitude can help them succeed.
